Shittu: Alao-Akala’s Reconciliation C’tee Populated By Ajimobi Loyalists, It Can’t Work

Shittu, who stated this while speaking on Ibadan-based radio station IBR FM, explained that the reconciliation can’t work  because majority of the committee members are loyalists of late Oyo State governor, Abiola Ajimobi. TESCOM Recriutment: Oyo Releases Venue, Other Details For Teaching Applicants

By  admin  -   August 8, 2020 Oyo State Government has announced the venue of the Computer Based Test (CBT) for teaching applicants in the state. A statement on Saturday by the Chairman of Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Pastor Akinade Alamu, said the venue of the examination would be the 1500 capacity University of Ibadan distance learning CBT centre, adding that the exercise will run for 10 days. He said 91,600 applicants including 417 special candidates(disables) are to write the CBT starting on Tuesday, August 11. The TESCOM boss said those who yet to rectify issues on their names or those that their names were not shortlisted should forget about the test as nothing could be done anymore. Alamu said the test would include questions on current affairs, noting that the disables are not going to write CBT but “screened/interviewed with auto-employment since the applicants are few in number.” He said the CBT invitation would be done via SMS or email, and the examination will run

  August 8, 2020 Former Senator representing Ogun State, Buruji Kashamu is dead He died at the age of 62. According to sources, the former lawmaker who represented the senatorial district in the 8th National Assembly died as a result of COVID-19 complications. Buruji Kashamu was moved to First Cardiology hospital after his health condition worsened following his bout with Coronavirus. News of his death was confirmed in a Facebook post by his former colleague, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce. A graduate of the University of Lagos, Senator Kashamu was the Governorship candidate of the PDP in Ogun State in the 2019 general elections. He was also the vice-chairman of the Senate Committee on States and Local Government in the 8th Senate.

By  Admin  -   August 7, 2020   The National Universities Commission has invited the Vice Chancellor of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Prof. Michael Ologunde, other principal officers, Academic Staff Union of Universities, and other staff unions of the university to a meeting. This is contained in a letter written by the NUC dated August 5 and addressed to the vice chancellor of the university. Our correspondent got a copy of the letter, signed by the NUC Deputy Executive Secretary (Academics) & Committee Chairman on Thursday. According to the letter, the NUC called the meeting as part of efforts towards solving the crisis rocking the university. The university is jointly owned by Oyo and Osun states, but funding has been a problem facing the varsity. The letter read in part, “The vice chancellor is requested to kindly draw the attention of the various university-based stakeholders to the proposed meeting scheduled for Friday, 7th August, 2020.”

By admin  August 6, 2020  The executive governor of Oyo state, Engr Seyi Makinde has sent the name of Barrister Lateef Idowu Oyeleke as commissioner nominee to the Oyo state house of assembly for screening and approval. The Speaker, Oyo state house of assembly, Rt Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, made this known while reading a message sent to the house from the executive on Thursday during its plenary after resuming from the brief recess to celebrate Eid-el Kabir. Governor Makinde, according to the letter, is seeking to appoint Barr Oyeleke as the new commissioner for environment to replace late Hon Kehinde Ayoola who was until his death, the commissioner for environment and whose demise has left the office vacant. TESCOM Recritment: Teaching Applicants To Write CBT On Tuesday

By  Ibrahim Agunbiade  August 6, 2020   Oyo State government has announced the readiness of the State’s Teaching Service Commission (Oyo TESCOM) to conduct computer-based test (CBT) for all candidates applying for teaching appointment, starting from Tuesday 11th August, 2020. The Chairman, Oyo TESCOM, Pastor Akinade Alamu stated this on a radio programme in Ibadan on Thursday while answering questions pertaining to developments on the State’s teaching appointment. Alamu had recently informed the general public that all applicants for the teaching appointment would have to upload their credentials to the State’s website to allow for equal participation and open process. COVID-19: Oyo Launches Statewide Containment Initiative

By Admin  -   August 5, 2020   The Oyo State Government has launched a statewide containment and decontamination response initiative to curtail the spread of COVID-19 across the state. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that a training programme on COVID-19 Decontamination Response Network held at the University of Ibadan on Tuesday ahead of the commencement of the initiative. The training had in attendance representatives of environmental health officers in all the 33 local government areas which had been divided into seven zones.
