PAY ATTENTION TO THOSE YOU LEAD IN SALAH!

Image
One of the unfortunately common practice one notice in masājid where Tarawīh or regular daily salawāt are lengthened is to see some individuals seated at the ablution centre waiting for the Imām to make rukū' so that they could quickly join. Some will actually wait for the second raka'ah so that they wouldn't experience the long standing in the second raka'ah. As bad as this is, except that it is not a new thing, the prophet expressly warned against lengthening the salah till things like this happens. A man came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! By Allah, I fail to attend the morning congregational prayer because so-and-so (i.e., Mu`adh bin Jabal) prolongs the prayer when he leads us for it." I had never seen the Prophet (ﷺ) more furious in giving advice than he was on that day. He then said, "O people! some of you make others dislike (good deeds, i.e. prayers etc). So whoever among you leads the people in prayer, he s

HIJRA: THE LESSONS OR HOLIDAY

Image
As Muslims enter into new hijra year it's very important to note and understand the lessons behind the migration of the prophet Muhammad from Makkah to Al Medina.  As we all know, Muslims have three Eid in which two are celebrated on yearly basis Eid Al Adha, Eid Al Fitr and the remaining one (yaomul jumuah) weekly. Hijra is part of what Allah has choosed for us to worship Him. That we should migrate from the land of disbeliever to a Muslim land, that Muslim should move from hinder place to where he can worship Allah peacefully. Also hijra is used to count the days, months and years. Which was established during the era of Umar ibn khattab. In our society of today we see people celebrating the first day and first month of the Muslim (New Hijra Calendar). We see some Muslims who see this day as a day of celebration, a day of giving thanks to Allah for them to see a new year. Some even go to the extreme by going to the stadium to march and celebrate the New Hijra Calendar, and some i

Can I fast six days of Shawwaal first, BEFORE my fardh Ramadhaan fasts that I need to make up? | Asma bint Shameem

Image
There’s a difference of opinion among the scholars about this issue. Some scholars said that it is permissible to fast the six days of Shawwaal first, then make up the missed Ramadhaan fasts later on in the year, before the next Ramadhaan begins.  But the stronger scholarly opinion is that in order to get the REWARD of fasting the ENTIRE year, we have to complete our Ramadhaan FIRST, as per the words of the hadeeth.  And THEN fast the six days of Shawwaal to get this immense reward.  You see, fasting six days of Shawwaal is dependent upon having completed the fasting of Ramadhaan.  Look at the words of the hadeeth: 🍃 The Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam said: "Whoever fasts Ramadhaan, 'THUMMA' (then) follows it with six days of Shawwaal, it will be as if he fasted a lifetime."   (Muslim) The word 'thumma' (“then”) shows that it must be done in this order, that is, complete Ramadhaan first, THEN do the six days of Shawwaal.  If we still owe fasts from Rama

End Ramadhaan with ISTIGHFAAR | Asma bint Shameem

Image
Today is the 29th of Ramadhaan.  The beautiful month of Ramadhaan is almost over.  Now end this amazing month of fasting and praying and Qur’aan with Istighfaar and seeking forgiveness.  That’s because seeking forgiveness after ANY act of worship is a wonderful way of smoothing out any imperfections it may have had....  It helps remove any shortcomings, any mistakes, any flaws, any weaknesses.... And that’s the reason why it’s part of our Deen to seek forgiveness after ALL acts of goodness.  🍃Didn’t the Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam seek forgiveness of Allaah three times after every Salaah?  Thawbaan Radhi Allaahu anhu  said:  “When he had finished his prayer, the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to ask for forgiveness three times,” (Saheeh Muslim 1362) 🍃Didn’t he teach us to say Istighfaar after making wudhu?  ‎سُبْحانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وبِحَمْدِكَ ، أشْهَدُ أنْ لا إلهَ إِلاَّ أنْتَ ، أسْتَغْفِرُكَ وأتُوبُ إِلَيْك “Glory and praise be to You, O A

What to do if Eid falls on a Friday | Asma bint Shameem

Image
If Eid falls on a Friday, then the strongest opinion among the ulama is that if a person attends the Eid prayer, then he does not ‘HAVE’ to attend the Jumu’ah prayer, though if he would attend both that would be great.  But if they chose to attend the Eid prayer only and did not attend the Friday prayer, then of course they would still have to pray Dhuhr.  📌Proof: 🍃 The Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam said: “Eid prayer and Friday prayer have fallen on the same day, today.  Whoever prays ‘Eid prayer, Friday prayer is not obligatory on him.  As for us, we are going to pray Friday prayer”. (Abu Dawood- authentic by al-Albaani) 🍃 Abu ‘Ubayd, the freed slave of Ibn Azhar, said:  “I was present on the occasion of two Eids (together) with ‘Uthmaan ibn ‘Affaan; that was on a Friday.  He offered the (Eid) prayer before the khutbah, then delivered the khutbah and said:  “O people, on this day two Eids have come to you together, so whoever wants to wait for Jumu‘ah with the people of al

YOUR MOTHER OR YOUR WIFE

Image
There is absolutely no place for comparison between a man's responsibility towards his wife and that towards his mother. This is in time  These people occupy different part of his heart,  however, the responsibility towards mother is unconditional even if she is a witch flying in the middle of the night, it is you that will know how to avoid her evil and protect yourself with adhkār. Allah says: { ۞ وَقَضَىٰ رَبُّكَ أَلَّا تَعۡبُدُوۤا۟ إِلَّاۤ إِیَّاهُ وَبِٱلۡوَ ٰلِدَیۡنِ إِحۡسَـٰنًاۚ إِمَّا یَبۡلُغَنَّ عِندَكَ ٱلۡكِبَرَ أَحَدُهُمَاۤ أَوۡ كِلَاهُمَا فَلَا تَقُل لَّهُمَاۤ أُفࣲّ وَلَا تَنۡهَرۡهُمَا وَقُل لَّهُمَا قَوۡلࣰا كَرِیمࣰا } And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word [Surah Al-Isrâ’: 23] Prophet Ibrahim's father was extremely hostile to him that he warned him to stay
