MURIC REJECTS OYO TESCOM CBT TIMETABLE.

 By Ibrahim Agunbiade

As depicted in MURIC logo " Dialogue, not Violence"; We, at Muslim Right Concern (MURIC) Oyo state chapter, call for rejection of conducting teachers job placement examination slated during the Jumu’ah solat of Friday 15 and 21 August 2020, Oyo State TESCOM CBT Timetables is anti-muslim, people have exam at 1pm on Fridays, when the only Sunday in between was excluded.

Is this aberration a signal to what the Muslim should expect from the outcome of the exercise? Because no true Muslim will be in a good frame of mind to attend such important examination during the spiritual exercise of Jumu’ah.

Is this not a reflection of confirmation of earlier MURIC call to Governor Seyi Makinde on the lopsided appointment and composition of membership of various boards and parastatals against the Muslims in Oyo state. We are convince no true conscious Muslim will be part of a meeting whereby such injustice will come through against any recognised popular exercise of any faith.

The Jumu’ah is known to be globally conducted around 11.30am to 3pm of the timing region on each Friday. Having missed several Jumu’ah service due to covid19 outbreak. The Muslims have just been recently allowed back to perform Jumu’ah service.

Muslims having CBT exam that fall between time of jumuah will not be in their excellent frame of mind and spiritual well being undergoing job placement examination during Jumu’ah period.

We also gathered that Christian Religious Studies questions were part of questions a candidate applying as a computer teacher had to attempt. The candidate, who expressed shock had to answer questions on how Moses (AS) was a shepherd to his father -in- law and how Elijah was thrown into fire, five questions of its type, this contradict to the earlier view that candidates will be tested on Mathematics, English Language, Current Affairs, Knowledge of Teaching Education and the candidate’s specialist area.

We hereby call on Oyo state government to:

1. Rectify and reschedule the examination that fall between 11.30pm to 3pm on Friday 15 and 21 of August 2020..

2. Tender apology to the Muslim community for several recurrent insensitivity of the state appointee or representative to the Muslims.

3. Reconstitution of all board and committee to reflect the sensitivities of all.
