Speaking yesterday (Thursday 9 th  July, 2020) through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, Governor Seyi Makinde denied sidelining Muslims of Oyo State. He said the Director of MURIC did not get his facts right before making the allegation.   But in a statement sent to media houses on Friday, 10 th July, 2020, the Director of MURIC, Professor Ishaq Akintola, fired back at the state government. Published   July 8, 2020  |  By   akintola 9 th  July, 2020   PRESS RELEASE: MAKINDE’S GOVERNING BOARD APPOINTMENT IS LOPSIDED   An Islamic human rights organization, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has criticized the recent appointments made by the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, for some tertiary institutions in the state. MURIC described the appointments as lopsided.     This was contained in a statement circulated by the Director of the organization, Professor Ishaq Akintola, on Thursday 9 th  July, 2020.     The group said, “Governor Makinde appointed six chairmen of governing boards yesterday, Wednesday 8 th July, 2020 but only one of them (Lateef Sanni) is a Muslim. He appointed thirty four (34) members but only fifteen (15) of them are Muslims. Makinde’s focus is clear. As far as he is concerned, only 16.6% and 44.1% are good enough for Muslims.     “Only a governor with a Christianisation agenda can do that in a Muslim-majority state. 44- year-old pastor rapes own daughter, aborts pregnancy thrice’

By Peter Moses, Abeokuta |  Jul 7, 2020  Police in Ogun State have arrested a 44-year-old Pastor of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Ogo Oluwa Parish, Oluwafemi Oyebola for allegedly raping his own daughter (name withheld). It was learnt that the pastor was arrested following a complaint by his daughter who reported at Owode-Egbado divisional headquarters.  A statement by Command Spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi quoted her to have reported that the father had been forcefully having carnal knowledge of her since 2015 when she was 19 years old shortly after the demise of her mother. According to her, she got pregnant for her father three times and the father took her to a nurse where those pregnancies were aborted.
