MURIC LAUDS ABIODUN FOR REWARDING LASU BEST STUDENT
The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, recently gave the best graduating student of the Lagos State University (LASU), Oladimeji Shotunde, an indigene of the state, a two-bedroom bundgalow and N2 million cash on behalf of the state government. The gifts were presented at a ceremony in which the state government celebrated twenty three (23) outstanding teachers and learners of the state tagged ‘Ogun Academic Laureates 2021’. Meanwhile an Islamic human rights advocacy group, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has commended the governor for this action. The group spoke on Thursday 29 th April, 2021 through its director, Professor Ishaq Akintola. “This is quite laudable. Governor Abiodun is giving priority to academic pursuits. He is fully aware that no nation can rise without education. He is therefore giving recognition to scholars and teachers.
