Six Months After, UI Central Mosque Resumes Jum'ah Service

The Muslim Committee of the University of Ibadan, Ibadan has announced the resumption of Juma’at Service after it was suspended since 9th March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic which hit the world at that period.

In a statement signed by the Chief Imam, Professor Oloyede AbdulRahman, the Juma’at service is expected to resume from Friday, October 9, 2020, with strict compliance to COVID-19 guidelines.

According to Professor  Oloyede, “the resumption is predicated upon the easing of lockdown imposed by government and consultation with the University Health Services that is in charge of COVID-19 protocols within the University of Ibadan.

“An extended meeting of the executive council of the community held on September 22, 2020, mandated the Mosque Management Committee and Mosque Development Committee to prepare the Mosque ready for the resumption of Juma’at Service.

“We are pleased to notify you that the two committees have diligently delivered on all necessary requirements towards seamless Juma’at Service as from October 9, 2020.
