UCH MUSLIM COMMUNITY LOST ONE OF IT PILLARS

By Ibrahim Agunbiade

The leadership and members of University College Hospital, UCH Ibadan, Muslim Community hereby commiserates with the Radiology department of the hospital, over the death of their leader, Professor Sulaiman. B. Lagundoye.

In a statement issued by one of its members, Ibrahim Agunbiade stated: Ina lillah waina ilaehi rojihun ( From Allah we come to Him we shall return)
We announce  the death  of one of our foremost Medical Professors and dedicated  Muslim activists, first Professor of Radiology in Nigeria, Professor Sulaiman  Lagundoye. He died today in Ibadan.  He was born in Owo Ondo state on the 13th of October  1935
A radiologist  by profession he was an active  member  of the UCH Muslim  community  who fought  for the establishment  of the Mosque  in the hospital  when some Islamophobic  Christians  were opposed  to the Mosque  being built at a strategic  place in the hospital.  After his retirement  from the UCH Ibadan, he was one  of the founding  members  of Bodija  Mosque  and Islamic  Centre.  He is equally  versatile  in Islamic knowledge  having come from a noble Islamic  family  in Owo. His father  was a celebrated Islamic  cleric  in the town. He would  be buried  today in owo. We therefore condole with his entire family members and remember  him in prayers  that Allah  forgives him his sins and admit him to jannat  Firdaous Aameen.
